Happy New Year!

As we enter 2012, we are very pleased to announce that 2011 was a year of increase for us. Our closing ratio improved by 17% and our net income went up by 11.9%. We could not have accomplished these goals without the support of our employees, customers, and associates. We appreciate you all and look forward to another great year! Our main goals for 2012 are to improve our customer and prospect follow up, track our job costs better, and complete more jobs in less time while we continue beautifying structures and spaces™. Color Care Across America

We participated in the repaint of The Dwelling Place in Norfolk, Virginia on November 2nd. The Dwelling Place, one of Norfolk’s partner programs providing shelter and support to homeless families, received a new paint job thanks to a partnership between the US Conference of Mayors, Benjamin Moore Paints, and the Paint and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA). Craftsmanship

Quality craftsmanship requires preparing each surface correctly, using high quality products, and applying the proper technique to provide the best possible finish.

The process Jason used to finish the surfaces in this photo included:

1. Sanding the trim (coffered ceiling, picture frames, wainscotting, spindles, and stair skirts and kicks) and the walls
2. Cleaning the trim and the walls
3. Priming the walls and the ceiling with acrylic
4. Priming the trim with lacquer
5. Filling the nail holes in the trim
6. Sanding the trim and the walls
7. Cleaning the trim and the walls
8. Caulking the trim
9. Priming the trim with lacquer
10. Sanding the trim
11. Cleaning the trim
12. Painting the trim with semi-gloss lacquer
13. Sanding the trim

17. Sanding the overspray on the walls from painting the trim

PDCA Expo 2011

PDCA hosted its 2011 convention in Orlando, Florida. The Painting & Decorating Expo attendees had their choice of over 30 different sessions to attend on topics ranging from Marketing and Social Media to Equipment Manufacturing and VOC compliance to Government Contracts and Paint Failures.
